Welcome to Syrian Home Cooking, your neighborhood go-to for Syrian food. Featuring fresh, healthy, homemade savories and pastries, we offer a rotating line-up of traditional Syrian delights.

Each week, we will bake made-to-order specialities available for pick-up right here in the Concordia neighborhood. All our food is made fresh, using quality ingredients, and prepared in our fully-licensed home kitchen.

Leila Yacoub Piazza is a first generation Syrian-American who has been cooking for family and friends all her life. She spent a month in Syria visiting her brother and sister in August 2018; her first trip home since the Syrian war broke out in 2011. She was happy to see life returning to normal as the fighting has stopped, and is hopeful that a lasting peace will emerge.

Here are some photos of her recent trip, including pictures of her sister, sister-in-law, niece and nephew, and great-niece and nephews. You can read more about the war in Syria, life since the war, Syrian culture, and more on Leila’s personal blog, O.K. look, here’s the deal.

While in Syria, Leila distributed aid to sixteen families affected by the war with funds raised through a neighborhood bake sale held in July 2018. Additional funds were distributed through a local priest in the area. Syrian Home Cooking is pledging 10 percent of profits to continued aid for families rebuilding their lives in the wake of the war.
